The Taylor Twins Garden is a memorial garden, named for Lucille Taylor Ford and Louise Taylor, the two youngest children of Vera Gale Taylor and Zelma Talley Taylor, lifetime residents of Jackson, Missouri. It is intended to enhance the education and enjoyment of general public of Jackson, Missouri and vicinity.

Taylor Twins Memorial Garden

Lucille and Louise had very strong bonds, as most twins do, yet were very different in personality.  Lucille was always more studious and serious while Louise was more free-spirited and a tomboy.  As the two diverging but intertwining paths through this garden signify (one made of flagstone, one made of pine bark), the Taylor Twins ultimately led separate fulfilling lives yet always came back together, ultimately both finishing life’s journey in Jackson, Missouri where they were born.  They both loved nature and they both loved color.

Lucille Taylor always planted colorful flowers no matter where she lived, and lots of color was always the central element of Louise Taylor’s works of art.  The Taylor Twins, Lucille and Louise, were not famous people, but they were important people.  They left their mark on so many lives, not just on family and friends, but also on the many students they taught over the many, many years.  It is only fitting that a garden so beautiful be dedicated to them for living such full and fulfilling lives.
